Medium weave cotton cloth fabrics are mixed with phenolic resins to provide good wear resistance, low moisture absorption, and good mechanical strength at economical cost. Canvas-based phenolics are used for structural supports, piston rings, gears, spacers, and bearing surfaces. The "CE" grade has better electrical properties than the "C" grade.
Phenolic C是採用棉布混合酚醛樹酯，根據美國NEMA標準，"C"等級屬於布質電木為一般機械用途，耐磨性強、低潮濕吸收，和好的機械強度，一樣是經濟又廣受歡迎的絕緣材料，可以用於結構支持、活塞環、齒輪、和軸承表面。
